Buckingham’s Civic Day celebrations went with a swing last Saturday, thanks to music from Glee Club UK.
Singers from the Glee Club UK Buckingham, supported by singers from other local branches, drew a crowd with their performance outside Buckingham’s Old Gaol.
Then Glee Club UK founder Richard Whennell led the audience of over 100 people in a workshop and mass sing-along of Proud by Heather Small and M People.
MP for Buckingham John Bercow presented the awards for Buckingham’s two Citizens of the Year.
Geoffrey Shaw collected his award for his work on the Buckingham AED Project.
Young carer Mollie Mai collected the award for Buckingham & Winslow Young Carers (YC2) organiser Margo Parfitt.
Charlotte Rawlings won Young Citizen of the Year and Jeremy Goss was runner-up.
Also on the day, Winslow Lions showed their support for the Buckingham AED Project with a cheque for £3,000.
