Armed police arrested two men after swooping on a car in Bicester town centre at around 1.30pm this afternoon.
Witnesses reported seeing officers from Thames Valley Police stopping the car in North Street and detaining two middle-aged white men at gunpoint.
A witness said: “There were two guys in an Audi who got pulled over at gunpoint and cuffed in the street.
“It was quite dramatic. It all happened very quickly.”
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said officers had arrested two people wanted by the Metropolitan Police.
The spokesman said no firearms were discharged during the incident, and no-one was injured.
