A superhero took time off from tackling crime to help firefighters raise cash in Bicester town centre.
Firefighter Damion Walker from Witney Fire Station joined his colleagues in a sponsored exercise cycle session in Sheep Street lasting five-and-a-half hours.
The sponsored exercise cycle session is one of several events to be held in the run-up to a five-day charity bike ride from Oxford to Bonn in July next year.
Firefighters raised just over £600 from the event, which ran from 10am to 3.30pm.
Members of the public were able to have a close look at a fire engine and get fire safety advice from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Mobile Information Unit.
Mr Walker dressed as Spiderman to appeal to children.
But Spidey made sure he wore his cycle helmet as part of the event, promoting the message that, “Even superheroes need to cycle safely.”
