FRINGFORD Cricket Club has become the legal owner of its home ground after a year-long fundraising campaign.
The 109-year-old club faced an uncertain future after the cricket ground was put up for sale by the trust that owns it.
The club had been offered first refusal on the site if it could come up with £45,000 by the end of August.
Villagers rallied to help the club with a variety of fundraising events, including a large party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The club announced it had become the ground’s legal owner on Friday.
