CAN it really be 18 months ago that Milton Keynes Theatre announced it was to host the first national tour of Dirty Dancing?
Incredibly, the curtain rises for the first night this Tuesday evening.
Everyone knows the story, so we’ll not fill column inches going over the romantic tale, and will instead give a name check to those stepping into the roles made famous by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
Paul- Michael Jones will be Johnny Castle, and Emily Holt is innocent Baby Houseman.
Both have too many stage and television credits to mention in the here and now, and both know how to kick up a storm on the dance floor...it’s kind of essential in this piece!
When the announcement of the tour was made, phone lines were humming with fans of the iconic 1987 smash wanting to relive the passion in the live – tour ticket sales have already passed the £11 million mark, with many showings sold out.
Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage will enjoy almost a month with us here in the new city, through to May 26.
Tickets start at £20.50 and rise to £40.50.
