BUCKINGHAM Town Council is looking for help from the public to build the biggest beacon possible for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Anyone who has any old pallets, tree branches or wood they want to get rid of should let the town council know, and they will be collected in the last week of May.
The beacon will be in the paddock area in Boughton Park. It will be one of a series of beacons across the country being lit as part of the jubilee celebrations on the night of Monday, June 4, between 10pm and 10.30pm.
It is registered to appear in a special book listing all the beacons being lit across the country, which is will be presented to The Queen after the event.
To donate wood for the beacon, call the town council on 01280 816426 before the end of May.
