Steeple Claydon’s Nativity in the Streets took place last Sunday, despite the fact that Mary and the baby, the narrator, the angel Gabriel and a shepherd all became ill the day before.
But other people jumped in to take over and the event was a resounding success, with 200 or more people turning up to walk the path and even the owners of the houses coming out in full costume.
A flash mob popping up to sing O Holy Night got a round of applause, as did Mary and Joseph when they held up the tiny baby, who behaved impeccably, as did the sheep on their reins.
