A recently formed hospice fundraising group has been given a £300 boost by Winslow’s Verney Masonic Lodge.
Mason Harry Chambers presented the cheque to Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity (FNHC) chief executive Sue Jenkins and Maureen French of the new FNHC Winslow Community Fundraising Group.
Harry was a founder member of the original capital appeal to raise half a million pounds to build the Aylesbury-based Florence Nightingale Hospice, back in the late 1980s, and his wife, Jackie, is a former hospice employee and FNHC trustee.
Sue said: “On behalf of everyone involved with Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, I’d like to thank Verney Masonic Lodge for your wonderful support of Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. Your donation is the equivalent of funding three patient appointments at our Lymphoedema Clinic.”
NHC needs to raise over £650,000 this year to ensure the future funding of hospice care services.
