South Northamptonshire has the fifth highest employment rate for older workers in Great Britain.
That’s according to the latest Government figures from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
The DWP charted the performance of every council district between April 2013 and March 2014.
Nationally 67.7 per cent of 50 to 64-year-olds is thought to be in employment compared to 84.6 per cent in south Northants.
Dermot Bambridge, South Northants councillor for economic development and regeneration, said: “Giving older workers a chance to thrive is just part of SNC’s active programme of help for employment in South Northamptonshire.
“Our Job Club, Job Match and Enterprise Club all provide free advice and guidance to local residents, whatever their age, to fulfil their potential in the workplace.
“I am delighted that once again the district has been recognised as a good place to work and a great place for businesses to grow.”
