Members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) in Bucks are due to go on strike for four hours next Wednesday, September 25.
Industrial action has been called over government proposals for fire service pensions.
Bucks Fire & Rescue Service’s chief operating officer Jason Thelwell, said: “A considerable amount of work has gone on behind the scenes to make sure we can continue to provide cover in Bucks and Milton Keynes in the event of industrial action.
“We will obviously prioritise emergency calls where lives are at risk, and we will continue to provide as much information as possible to help people avoid having a fire or other emergency – not just during strike periods, but all year round.”
Meanwhile the fire authority says members of the public should be aware of the situation and follow tips for staying safe listed at www.bucksfire.gov.uk/BucksFire/News
The strike is set to take place from noon to 4pm on Wednesday, September 25, unless an agreement is reached before then.
