Friday, September 13, was unlucky for Gladman Developments, as its application to build 211 homes at Glebe Farm, Verney Road, Winslow, was turned down.
There had been more than 250 objections from members of the public to the scheme.
More than 20 Winslow residents attended Friday’s meeting of Aylesbury Vale District Council’s strategic development control committee.
Gladman did not attend.
Winslow town councillor Roy van de Poll said: “This is excellent news for our community and for our Neighbourhood Plan. However, we can expect Gladman to appeal this decision, so we must remain vigilant.”
And he urged people to write and object to a second application from Gladman, this time for 100 homes at Shipton, which is also contrary to the town’s draft Neighbourhood Plan. Details can be found at www.winslowtowncouncil.gov.uk
