Northants’ youngest literary festival returns to Helmdon on Sunday, August 25.

The not-for-profit festival is once again completely free and offers a number of literary attractions. The programme is spread across various venues, but the main hub of the festival will be the village’s Reading Room, from midday onwards.

There will be books to buy, literary-related stalls, competitions, refreshments and a Young Readers Zone with live storytelling.

The centrepiece of the afternoon begins at 3pm at St Mary’s Church, with readings from three of the county’s most notable writers.

Adrian Magson, Alison McQueen and Garry O’Connor will be reading from their work, taking part in a joint Q&A session and signing copies of their books.

The festival will be raising funds for humanitarian charity Hand In Hand For Syria, a non-political UK-based organisation providing care and medical aid for Syrian refugees.
