Police investigating the tragic death of Bicester tot Sarah Dahane say they are examining “options for extradition” as the search for the little girl’s mother continues.
Thames Valley Police launched a murder investigation in May after the body of 20-month-old Sarah was found at a home in Herald Way, Glory Farm.
The girl’s mother, Angela Whitworth, 40, also known Wanjunu Kirrecu, was seen boarding a flight to Kenya the night before Sarah’s body was discovered. She has been named as a murder suspect in the investigation.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police confirmed the investigation is continuing, adding: “Various options for extradition are being explored.”
The spokesman could not provide any more information at this stage.
At the opening of an inquest into Sarah’s death in May, police said it would be a complex investigation, but said they would keep an open mind “until an exact cause of death can be established.”
No date has been set for a full inquest into Sarah’s death. Police revealed there were no external signs of trauma on her body.
