Ancient wildflower meadows near Bicester and Marsh Gibbon look set to be protected for posterity after supporters helped raise £270,000 in a matter of weeks.
The Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) said Meadow Farm in Blackthorn is close to being saved “forever” thanks to more than 2,000 donations.
Cash had to be raised by the end of July.
Philipa Lyons, the trust’s chief executive, said she was grateful to all those who had donated so generously to the appeal.
