Brackley’s De Boer helped the Royal Horticultural Society celebrate its centenary year by providing the ‘Great Pavilion’ to host floral displays.

The enormous 3.2-acre structure, which has been the centrepiece of the show for the past 14 years, included a special ventilation system to prevent visitors and displays from wilting.

De Boer’s managing director Peter Spruce said: “The ‘Great Pavilion’ we designed for RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the 2000 event was a dramatic improvement over the traditional canvas-style facility that had been used for decades.

“Crucially it has provided exhibitors with an environment that is far superior for the floral displays to be kept in pristine condition throughout the show, and allowing visitors clearer and easier viewing.”

He added: “Since 2000 we have constantly worked with RHS Chelsea Flower Show team to look at new ways to improve the indoor exhibition areas.

“We have introduced modifications, including elevated viewing walkways and introducing the A-Frame structure into the overall design, to create additional space and to enhance the experience for exhibitors and visitors.”
