A company has been appointed to design and build Bicester’s new community hospital.
Mansell, a Balfour Beatty brand, has been awarded the contract to build the £5.2million hospital for developer and investor, Kajima Partnerships.
Work is due to start on the hospital in June which will include 12-beds with an ambulance base, first aid unit, out of hours and out-patient areas.
It will also have imaging and physiotherapy suites, offices and a community base.
The latest contract award adds to Mansell’s growing healthcare portfolio within the Thames Valley region and is the second project it has delivered for this customer, the first being Brentwood Community Hospital in Essex.
Richard Coe, senior development manager for Kajima Partnerships said: “We have been delighted with Mansell’s contribution to the scheme so far and look forward to building on this success to deliver a hospital of clinical excellence.”
Mansell’s Thames Valley regional director, Jonathan Winter, said: “It’s great to have been appointed to deliver Bicester’s new community hospital.
“Stakeholder engagement with members of the local community has been a key part of the project to date and will continue throughout the contract period through projects such as the Outdoor Gym, therapy garden and two public art commissions”.
