Chiltern Railways, which operates Bicester North and Bicester Town stations, has been named top English franchise rail operator for service punctuality for the fifth period running, according to figures released by Network Rail.
The official rail industry figures, which are based on the percentage of services arriving within a minute of their scheduled time, revealed that 86.3 per cent of Chiltern Railways trains were on time against a national average of 68.1 per cent.
Chiltern Railways spokesman Andrew Munden said: “This is our fifth period at the top of the right time punctuality rankings and reflects our focus on service delivery for passengers.
“On-time arrivals are incredibly important to our customers and we’re constantly looking for ways to make further improvements so that we continue to give our passengers what they want; a fast, flexible and reliable travel experience.”

The rail industry divides each year into 13 four-week periods, and the most recent figures were collected between March 3 and March 31.
