Bicester householders are being reminded they can recycle frozen meat products in the wake of the horsemeat scandal.
The Oxfordshire Waste Partnership (OWP) has reiterated the Government’s advice that certain withdrawn lines of frozen burgers and lasagne should be returned to the stores where they were bought.
But the organisation is also reminding residents they can recycle frozen meat.
David Dodds, chairman of the OWP, said: “It’s important that the public take government advice, but we would like to remind people that all food waste can be recycled in Oxfordshire.
“Frozen meat products taken out of their packaging can be put with all other food waste, cooked or uncooked, in food waste bins.”
Food waste in Oxfordshire is recycled as compost and liquid fertiliser.
