Freezing temperatures may mean record numbers of birds in this weekend’s Big Garden Birdwatch, says RSPB Oxfordshire.
The wildlfe charity says large numbers of birds could be found foraging for food in back gardens across the county as snow and ice blanket the countryside.
More than 10,000 people from Oxfordshire took part in last year’s survey. Participants spent an hour noting the numbers of each bird species they see in their garden or local park. The Big Garden Birdwatch is now in its 34th year. See www.rspb.org.uk/birdwatch for details.
