Government cash will boost road repairs in Northamptonshire, the county council announced this week.
The Government has made £3.7million available for road maintenance over the next two years – in addition to Northants County Council’s budget of £16million for road maintenance.
The council says it will use the extra money to continue its programme of preventative repairs.
Around £2.46million has been made available in 2013/14 and £1.36million in 2014/15.
The county’s road network covers about 2,500 miles, more than half of which is on unclassified roads.
