A woman had to be airlifted to hospital on Sunday afternoon after a mini-bus overturned on the M40.
Around a dozen walking wounded were treated at the scene and two people were taken to John Radcliffe Hospital by South Central Ambulance, one with a back injury and the other with a head injury after the full mini-bus ended up on its roof on the hard shoulder of the southbound carriageway at around 3.50pm.
Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance airlifted the 48-year-old driver, who had to be cut from the mini-bus, to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
An onboard doctor and paramedic also gave emergency treatment at the scene.
None of the injuries were said to be life threatening or life-changing.
Oxfordshire Fire Service sent two fire crews from Banbury, a crew from Bicester, and a rescue tender from Kidlington to the southbound carriageway of the M40, between Junctions nine and 10.
The northbound carriageway was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.
Thames Valley Police also attended and two lanes were closed to traffic while the incident was dealt with.
Tailbacks of up to 10 miles, beyond Junction 11 were reported. It is not known what caused the accident.
